Epithalame (Chanson sans Paroles), by Paul Webster (arranged by Miguel Pliego)
This piece was originally written for piano solo, as a wedding present for French friends [Jean-Marie and Corinne Roullé] (hence the title: Epithalame is the …French version of an ancient Greek word meaning “wedding song”), and subsequently arranged for ‘cello and piano.
It was later revised in a version for an orchestra of 18 solo string instruments, thereafter arranged for violin and piano.
This arrangement for double bass and piano is made by Miguel Pliego from the violin and piano version.
