Born in Madrid in 1996, Miguel began his bachelor studies with Luis Fonseca at the RCSMM, combining his musical education with a degree in Architecture at the ETSAM, and completing them at the Guildhall School in London with Luis Cabrera and Rinat Ibragimov. At present, he is studying a postgraduate program in Solo Performance with Professor Wies de Boevé at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. This was possible thanks to the support of Juventudes Musicales de Madrid, ZHdK and Lyra Foundations.
Under the baton of conductors such as Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Esa Pekka Salonen, Daniel Harding, François-Xavier Roth, Ivan Fischer, Juanjo Mena and Pablo Heras-Casado, he has performed and been a member of ensembles like the youth orchestras of Spain (JONDE), Netherlands (NJO), Gustav Mahler Academy, Encuentro de Música Santander, European Union Youth Orchestra and Davos Music Festival. In addition, he was appointed sub-principal double bass with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra for a temporary contract. He is regularly invited to play with the Euskadiko Orkestra, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, English Baroque Soloists and the Monteverdi Choir, Musikkollegium Winterthur and the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique. Recently, he has become a member of the Sinfonieorchester Basel.
Moreover, his passion for folk and modern music has brought him to learn other instruments and take jazz courses at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Berklee College of Music. He often uses his study pauses in front of the piano transcribing and discovering new exciting harmonies.
Miguel enjoys spending his free time surrounded by nature and mountain landscapes, carrying a pencil and sketch notebook in his pocket as a photographing device, and a watercolour set if the backpack is big enough. In addition, he has recently developed a great passion for gastronomy and cooking, and takes pleasure in gathering friends and family to share meals.
